Office of Clinical Practice
PLEASE BE ADVISED: February 18, 2020 is the last day Long Beach Unified School District will accept placement applications for Spring 2020 fieldwork for all Clinical I & II courses.
As of 02/07/2020- LBUSD no longer has Clinical I & II placements available in Special Education at the elementary level. There are still placements available in Special Education at the Middle School and High School level. For Multiple Subject student who needs to complete fieldwork hours in both a traditional classroom and special education classroom, there are still traditional classrooms available, however you will have to look in another district to complete the special education requirement.
Welcome to the Office of Clinical Practice! The goal of the Office of Clinical Practice (OCP) is to provide support to students engaged in clinical practice through one of our many College of Education programs. Students participate in clinical practice at various levels, beginning with observation in Clinical I fieldwork all the way through to Clinical III fieldwork which encompasses Student Teaching and Internship opportunities.
One of the many ways OCP supports clinical practice is by developing and maintain professional partnerships between the university and the schooling community, thereby allowing for enriching experiences that provide high-quality work-based learning and pedagogical understanding. Clinical placements and support are made possible through collaborative efforts of school districts, charters, and private organizations, as directed by university guidelines.
Use the menu on the left to find out more information on the different clinical practice opportunities available and fieldwork guidelines.
